About the Teacher
Brajsundar Das is a dedicated servant of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, whose life reflects a harmonious synthesis of devotion, learning, and preaching. Born in December 1984 into a cultured Brahmin family, he was introduced to spiritual life from an early age under the affectionate guidance of his mother. These early impressions gradually matured into a firm commitment to bhakti.
In 2002, he joined the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and, in 2007, received initiation from His Holiness Shri Shrimad Radha Govinda Dasa Goswami Maharaja. From that time onward, he dedicated his life fully to the service of Shri Guru and Gauranga, with particular emphasis on studying, teaching, and disseminating the spotless Purāṇa, the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.
Since 2007, Brajsundar Das has been residing in Shri rindavan-dhama, the transcendental abode of the Lord, from where he has actively contributed to the establishment and growth of ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya centers in India, Europe, and North America. His approach reflects the traditional Vaishnava principle that systematic education, grounded in Śāstra and guided by sādhu, is essential for preserving and transmitting spiritual culture.
Alongside his devotional commitments, he has pursued higher education, holding a Master’s degree in Information Technology and a Master of Arts in History, and is presently engaged in doctoral research. He also serves as the CEO of Vedavarsity, an initiative begun under the guidance of His Holiness Bhakti Dhira Damodara Swami, dedicated to nurturing deep and faithful engagement with Bhāgavata teachings.
Over the years, Brajsundar Das has conducted more than 252 seminars across 22 countries and 184 cities, personally training over 5,786 devotees through the Bhagavata Teachers Training program. His contribution extends to literature as well; he has authored four books and serves as an editor of the Nityaṁ bhāgavata-sevayā e-magazine, encouraging daily hearing and service to the Bhāgavatam.
His life stands as a practical demonstration of the Bhagavatam’s message—that sincere hearing, careful study, and selfless service, when performed under proper guidance, can uplift both the individual and society at large.
Course Overview
*Day 1: Foundations of Sri Guru-Tattva*
The course begins by exploring the foundational principles of Guru-Tattva, emphasizing the essential role of the Guru in revealing spiritual truths. Participants will learn why following a bona-fide Guru is vital for spiritual progress and how material perception limits our understanding, making *guru-surrender* necessary.
* *Scriptural Foundations: A study of **Bhagavad-gītā 4.34* and the *Mundaka Upaniṣad* highlights the importance of seeking knowledge from a realized Guru.
*Day 2: Recognizing a Bona-Fide Guru*
On Day 2, participants will examine the *qualities of a Sad-Guru*—a self-realized, scripture-versed, detached spiritual master. The session also covers the different levels of devotees (kanistha, madhyama, uttama) and teaches how to discern the qualifications of a bona-fide Guru.
* *The Dangers of Unqualified Gurus*: Identifying unqualified or ritvik systems and understanding the importance of scriptural discernment.
*Day 3: Applying Guru-Tattva in Life*
The final day focuses on integrating Guru-Tattva into daily practice. Participants will learn the true meaning of *Dikṣā* (initiation) and how to serve the Guru with *faith, humility, and devotion. Practical guidelines for regular service and devotion are also shared, including **guru-pūjā* and chanting.
* *Group Reflection & Commitments*: Participants will share resolutions for choosing, approaching, and serving a genuine Guru.
*Learning Outcomes*
By the end of this course, participants will:
1. Understand the scriptural basis for *Guru-Tattva* and the significance of the Guru-disciple relationship.
2. Identify the essential qualities of a bona-fide Guru and how to discern unqualified spiritual guides.
3. Cultivate proper attitudes of *humility, **surrender, and service through **Guru-Bhakti Yoga*.
4. Apply Guru-Tattva in daily life, committing to a life of devotional service under the guidance of a true spiritual master.
This course is essential for those seeking to walk the path of devotion and make the guidance of a *real Guru* the foundation of their spiritual journey.
